been a long while since i pop in, hope you’re doin fine.

anyway, about driving lorry. it’s good to learn it once you pass your license. cos if you can master that, any other cars can close eye. that’s how i went thru driving. my mom refused to let me drive the family car, ordering me to take the 10-footer. and there’s no power steering in those days.

so imagine all the steering i’ve to do when reverse parking.

the trick to getting into the lot, is to imagine the rear wheels as swivel points. when you reverse, you’d turn the lorry, and notice the rear wheel swiveling at a fix point as your turn more and more with your steering wheel. find a empty place, and watch how the rear wheel behave thru the rear view mirror.

then the next step, is to place that swivel points into one corner of the parking lot. if you are reversing to the lot on your side, you have to make sure the rear wheel will swivel somewhere on the corner (right front one) of your lot, as you clear the vehicle in, turn your wheel back straight, to release the swivelling, and let the lorry go straight in.

also, don’t line your lorry to close to the lot before you reverse. make sure the parking lot and the side of your lorry has a big enough gap before you make the reverse.
